Skyservice™ Takes Delivery of First Canadian-Registered Gulfstream G500

Toronto, ON — April 20, 2026 — Skyservice Business Aviation today announced the delivery of the first Canadian-registered Gulfstream G500, marking the aircraft’s formal entry into service in Canada following Transport Canada’s type certificate validation of a few select serial numbers in February 2026.

The milestone enables the G500 to be registered and operated on the Canadian registry for the first time, following several years of regulatory review.

“This delivery represents an important step forward for business aviation in Canada,” said Benjamin Murray, President and Chief Executive Officer, Skyservice Business Aviation. “It reflects the level of coordination required across regulators, manufacturers, and our internal teams to introduce a new aircraft type into the Canadian market and ensures Canadian-based clients can now operate the G500 under domestic regulatory oversight, enjoying the operational flexibility and performance the aircraft was designed to deliver.”

Designed for efficient and comfortable transcontinental and transatlantic missions, the G500 is a large-cabin, long-range business jet with a range of up to 5,300 nautical miles and cruise speeds of Mach 0.85, or Mach 0.90 at high-speed. It features Gulfstream’s Symmetry Flight Deck and fly-by-wire controls.

The aircraft, which will be managed by Skyservice, was delivered to Skyservice’s Toronto facility and is expected to enter service in May.

The delivery also reflects continued fleet progression among Canadian operators and a broader transition to next-generation Gulfstream platforms, including forthcoming G700 and G800 aircraft.
